Home to the oldest professional musical organization in the United States — "The President's Own." Two premier ensembles plus ten 50-person field bands. Marine musicians enlist through the Musician Enlistment Option Program (MEOP): 13-week recruit training, Marine Combat Training, then Naval School of Music. The Marine Band has performed at every presidential inauguration since Thomas Jefferson.
Training
13-week Recruit Training at Parris Island or San Diego, Marine Combat Training, then Naval School of Music. "The President's Own" has NO basic training requirement.

E-2 / E-3 (varies) — base pay plus BAH, BAS, and special duty pays
