The Coast Guard Band is one of the most selective military ensembles. Auditioned candidates enter directly as Musician First Class (E-6 / Petty Officer 1st Class) with starting salary of $73,000–$79,000. No standard 8-week basic training — just a 2-week indoctrination at Cape May. Signing bonus up to $15,000 with qualifying college credits. 30 days paid leave plus federal holidays.
