Permanent, full time (42.5 hours per week), £42,571.31 per annum, based in Purfleet, Essex at the Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop — the state-of-the-art facility where many Royal Ballet and Opera stage productions begin. This is a hands-on role within the Scenic Construction team in a collaborative workshop environment, producing high-quality metalwork for sets and stage elements for productions across The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera. The role suits a candidate with strong creative crafting skills in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a recognised metalwork/welding qualification; knowledge and experience of metalwork manufacture using traditional and modern techniques; knowledge of Mig/Tig/Arc welding; the ability to work from scale drawings, models, plans, sketches and verbal references; and strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy and best practice. Experience constructing large-scale sets for theatre venues or companies is an advantage. Req number 261.
