Assistant Principal Viola (Core, Tenure Track)

Core, tenure-track Assistant Principal Viola position with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Live audition September 11 & 12, 2026 in Norfolk, Virginia; deadline for receipt of materials August 21, 2026. 2026-27 salary $41,106.24 plus $475.00 Electronic Media Guarantee and $1,468.08 optional community engagement, for total compensation of $43,049.32. The VSO performs a 36-week season including classical, pops, family, ballet and opera repertoire. The position receives 7.194% AFM pension, paid leave, health benefits and instrument insurance, is scheduled to begin November 1, 2026, with tenure notification by April 1, 2028. Non-citizens must have US work authorization. A $100.00 deposit check payable to the Virginia Symphony Orchestra must be mailed by August 21, 2026; cancellation deadline with refund of deposit is August 28, 2026.
