Every orchestra on earth is short of great bass teachers; most bass students never get within a hundred kilometres of one. Online, that distance disappears. YOUR STUDIO Teach setup and physicality (French and German bow), the audition literature (Bottesini, Koussevitzky, Dittersdorf, Vanhal), the excerpt canon (Beethoven 5 & 9, Mozart 40, Mahler, Strauss), jazz doubling where that is your world, and the long technical build from first lessons to section-ready playing. WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO — Teach live, one-on-one lessons to students TGC's admissions team matches to you — by level, repertoire, goals, and time zone — Shape each student's pathway: repertoire plans, technique architecture, performance milestones, online recitals — Optionally: sit Mock Audition Lab panels, give public masterclasses, teach certificate cohorts, and coach the auditioned Global Youth Orchestra — each compensated separately — Never: chase payments, schedule logistics, or market yourself. TGC handles billing, scheduling, safeguarding, and student matching HOW THE WORK WORKS This is per-lesson faculty work. You are paid for every lesson you teach — no salary, no minimum hours, no exclusivity. You keep your performing career, your existing students, and your city. Take two students or twenty; grow or shrink your studio as your season allows. You teach from wherever you live, in the hours you choose, and students come to you. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Internationally accomplished double bass artists and pedagogues: orchestra and opera professionals, conservatory faculty, competition laureates, and master teachers with a record of student growth. Online-teaching experience is welcome but never required — every TGC faculty member receives full platform onboarding, equipment guidance, and an online-pedagogy workshop.
