Founded in 1905, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra is the National Orchestra of Sweden, performing at the Gothenburg Concert Hall and internationally known for its Nielsen and Sibelius recordings under Neeme Järvi. Santtu-Matias Rouvali was chief conductor until 2025; Barbara Hannigan and Pekka Kuusisto serve as principal guest conductors.
