Founded in 1882, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra is the oldest permanent symphony orchestra in the Nordic countries, with a deep Sibelius tradition — the composer premiered several symphonies with it — and a home at the Helsinki Music Centre. Jukka-Pekka Saraste has been chief conductor since 2023.
